with what turned out to be a sinking, poorly built addition. They loved their Ottawa neighbourhood, property and their neighbours – the intangibles that made moving unpalatable. After working with OakWood renovation in Ottawa on a new design, the Home Owners realised that they could have their dream home right where they wanted to remain.
With a huge new kitchen and great island this area has truly become the hub of the home. With rich dark stain cabinets, stainless steel appliances and warm moss green with dark green veins running through out solid surface countertops, this kitchen is warm and inviting.
More often than not the Home Owner sits at the island when she works from home rather than the home office that they have because she loves the space so much.
Heated floors add to the comfort of the new spaces and the renovator, was even able to install heated floors in the ensuite as a secret present for the Home Owner from her husband!
The basement was designed to be a “man cave” and was designed and built by Oakwood specifically to accommodate the Home Owners competition sized pool table. Gleaming floors and a dark blue wall colour complete the look for this cozy retreat.
A front porch was added with metal accents and a red front door call out for friends and neighbours to stop in for a visit.
The Home Owners now have a home that they love even more then when they first bought it specifically because of the sense of space, lightness on the main floor and the increased air flow that was missing before.
